Nestled close to the terrific outdoor playground of Lake Hourtin (and closer still to its equally terrific lakeside beaches) Hourtin’s Village Western has the great outdoors all wrapped up in one unique and delightful package.
Swim in the outdoor pool and, when the great indoors beckons, hop inside to the parc’s wonderful new indoor pool complex complete with reviving massage jets, and jacuzzi pool. Or just have a doze on the deckchairs looking out onto the parc’s lush green landscapes.
The parc’s also home to the well-regarded Western riding school and Pony Club (this is bookable locally), and even-more-active types will love the opportunity to saddle up on a mountain bike, ready to tackle the forest trails that lead from the parc to the shores of the lake. Head home again to grab a pizza, or a drink, in one of the parc’s authentically wild-west-style buildings. As you’ll discover, it’s another world, here at the great outdoors of Le Village Western.

Local area
Just 1 km away is the Lac Hourtin-Carcans; the largest freshwater lake in France, with plenty of watersports opportunities as well as a sandy lake beach. The lake even has a 'Children's Island' - a 10 hectare leisure park for children from 3 months to 12 years. The Gironde is also famous for its vineyards including the renowned Château Mouton Rothschild which even has it's own wine museum. As you might expect, there are many vineyard tours and, of course, wine-tasting opportunities, nearby. What's more, the wonderful city of Bordeaux is only an hour away and offers a wealth of sightseeing opportunities.
